Yo! We now have a cloud system again, running NextCloud. This time with object storage from Hetzner.de. What they say about their storage:
Object Storage is the S3-compatible storage solution that grows with your data requirements – highly available, secure, and flexible.
Our cloud uses this storage as primary storage, so all your data is secure and highly available. If my server dies, your data is still there. Well of course the data of my server is stored redundant as well.
The only downside is, that the data is not being encrypted. As in any way you would have to trust me not viewing your pictures or documents. But this is not my intention and I’m not going to do so.

It also has some more features like “Talk” which enables you to talk to your friends having an account as well, on this or other NextCloud instances – over video, voice, or chat. There are also Desktop and mobile “Talk” clients notifying you of new messages, like with other messengers.
You can also share your photos, videos and files using for example link sharing. People could watch your videos right on the web.
The cloud also has features like face recognition for your pictures, you can create albums, share them and more! 🙂
